Yes, I know. When they resort to that worthless defence, you know you have them on the run. It's a defence mechanism aimed at trying to avoid or limit criticism from anybody outside of mainstream science. There is also a good deal of intellectual arrogance here. They are the self appointed arbiters of knowledge. You don't question or criticize them because they have fooled themselves into belieiving that they are "all knowing." Narcissism and egomania will do that to you.
Nobody needs a College degree to learn as much as they want about any subject. All you need is a library card and an avid interest. That is like me saying to the reader, you have a degree in English literature, what do you know about Astronomy? Because you are fascinated by it and you have 3 telescopes and dozens of books, etc.To attempt to limit anybody's knowledge and experience by strict adherence to which degrees they have is the height of absurdity.
Science and acadamia try and use that "argument" to try and exclude all criticism from outside their little fiefdoms. The high priesthood in science keep any dissension amongst the ranks in-house. Any scientist who threatens the status-quo too much finds himself passed over for promotion, ostracised or funding cut off. Few scientists are willing to risk that. But when somebody comes along from outside of mainstream science they have no power over them. No constraints on the criticism. I have no vested interests in mainstream science. No grant money or pet theory's to protect. So they try the "your not qualified aproach," try and confuse you with technical smoke. It's all nonsense of course.
We know the straw man arguments they will weave in answer to my criticisms. "You don't know what you are talking about. You're alayperson, you don't understand the intricacies of science and medicine."
My answer to that is this. I don't need a medical degree to recognize the stench of rapacious greed and endemic corruption . Yes , they will try and bamboozle us with a plethora of technical mumbo jumbo. But once the worthless "arguments" are brushed aside we can see them for what they really are; people who have piece-mealed out their integrity and principles for money and power. The raw truth is that we have been betrayed for over 40 years by the matriarchs of the NCI, ACS, AMA and FDA; to their everlasting shame I might add. |
