DOLLY is a hard-running, hard hunting bitch with a high mchine gun chop mouth. Even at the age of 9, Dolly can still foot with the best of them. Although fast, Dolly is always around the rabbit. Her checks are short - she almost always checks herself before the other dogs get the chance. Her hunting style is to sweep the fields in front of you in bird dog fashion - it's a pleasure to watch. She loves the gun and will circle a rabbit as many times as one is a bad shot *smiles*.

Dolly is an excellent producer, whelper and mom, and her daughters are proving to be the same. She's had 3 litters in her 9 years - one litter of 7, one litter of 10, and one litter of 11. She's only lost 3 of her 28 puppies, and that was in the litter of 11. She also raised an orphaned litter of six.

As good a rabbit dog as Dolly is, her most notable quality is her intelligence and temperament. She's beyond what you would expect from the average hunting beagle. She understands commands readily, and is so friendly she will handle for anyone in the field.
