Angela Cannings is a mother of four children married to Terry Cannings. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, they lived in Winterbourne Gunner, Wiltshire, near the Ministry of Defence's nuclear biological and chemical centre at Porton Down. This fact needs to be pointed out before anyone reads any further and draws one's own conclusions. In 1989, Angela lost a child to Sudden Infant Death (SIDS), after she had already suffered a stillbirth earlier. She and her husband Terry decided to try for another child in the hope to overcome the immense grief that befalls a mother over the loss of her own child. Their second child was born in 1991. And died 7 weeks later, of SIDS. Angela could not believe that this happened. In 1998, Angela found herself pregnant again. Both her and Terry were very happy. Jason was born in 1999 into a once again happy family. He died 13 weeks later, the initial verdict was again, SIDS. However, she was arrested for suspected murder. Her case went to Winchester Crown Court in February, and on 16th April she was given two life sentences in jail.
