1989 Elected President of SNLD
1990 Elected Member of Parliament for Hsipaw township
1993 Elected Member of Panel of Chairmen, National Convention (1993-96)
1996 Forms JAC, 6 June, with Shan State Army "North" and Shan State National Army that had already established the Shan State Peace Council in January
2002 Forms the 'unofficial' UNA with 8 other non-Burman parties that together secured 67 seats during the 1990 elections
2005 Hkun Htun Oo was arrested by the Burma's military regime along with other 30 leaders from Shan State.
Present Address: In Notorious Insein Prison, Hkun Htun Oo was sentenced to jail for 93 years.
