What possessed me to buy this? I bought a 2nd XR as a 2nd daily driver, and it was fun, but just a little more troublesome than I wanted. So I began the search for a N/A 2.3 5 speed Mustang. I mean, the engine is nearly bullitproof (See what us turbo guys put them through), and the T5 transmission is also nearly industructable. Seems like a good match to me. I would not even consider an automatic transmission after my experience with my black XR, besides, they're too slow. This beast also had TWO sets of 15" "10 hole" wheels with tires, and 5.0 emblems. (5.0 emblems add 20 HP, didn't you know that? ;)
What car of mine is complete without a few modifications? I have already opened up the intake a bit, it seems to help on the power. If I can convince myself that the stock exhaust manifold is leaking, I'll replace it with a header. I plan to bump the timing and few other minor goodies. Hoping to bring this 88 HP slug to around a 100 HP turtle... ...without spending hardly any money of course.
