OK, last week we had a top speed of 35 MPH. Not good... Driving home from work on Thursday was interesting to say the least. Found a Bosch 255 LPH pump in one of my parts cars (how lucky is that?), and installed it. While I was at it, I replaced the fuel filter also. Now I can finally break the 35 MPH speed barrier. Now we have some other issues creeping up. We have hesitation at medium to high throttle after the engine is warmed up. I suspect ignition, so check cap and rotor, look fine, and replace the wires. Still hesitating. I FINALLY pretty much burned off that tank of 2 year old gas, so filled up w/ 94 Octane, a heavy dosage of injector cleaner, and a dosage of fuel additive. Wow! we're pullin' now! She winds out to 5500 RPM without a problem! I got tired of looking at that stupid steel wheel with whitewalls, so repalced that with another phone dial wheel I had laying around. At least now, each side of the car looks the same, even though the sides are different. Popped the hood, repalced the stock air filter w/ a new one I had laying around. Also, that clutch was still acting up, so I pulled the pedals (the old owner had them pretty bent out of shape), compared it to another set I had laying around, and noticed that the paw, prowl, whatever you call it arms were different. The one on it did not come back all the way, and the one I had laying around came back a little too far. I swapped them anyway, and now it has a little trouble engaging the clutch. So I take it easy now when I drive and it seems happy. Did an oil change finally (made a huge mess, never doing that again), and Cossie is now road-worthy for semi-daily driving and re-breaking in.
