Winnipeg has more then half a month of mid 30'sC through out the summer with the average summer temp staying around 26C (79 F); when there's humidity 30C (86F) can feel like 40C (104F) ... good beach weather!
( just to count Calgary, Alta only averages 30C around 4 times a year)
Summer usually lasts from about May - September (summer being 18C + [64F])
Winter can be extremly harsh, Winnipeg is the COLDEST CITY IN THE WORLD (according to stats Canada) with a population of over 600,000, with the average January temp being -25 C - 14 C but temperature of below- 30C ( -22 F) are definetly not rare especially when night creeps along and at least a couple days a year it may even reach -40C - -50C ( -58 F - - 40 F) once a year
The city often recives an Indian summer where summer temperatures return briefly after the first frost often in October or sometimes November.
