poetry girl

 

 

during one of my readings,

 

she shouted from the back,

"that's not poetry!"

 

and i replied,

"you're a cunt!

 

that's not

a metaphor."

 

and then i said,

"you wouldn't know poetry

 

if it sat on your face."

and then i said,

 

"but poetry wouldn't

sit on your face anyway,

 

because it wouldn't want

to get its ass dirty!"

 

and now

what i said that night

 

has become this poem

and i don't see her

 

anywhere around.
