This page and the following linked pages reflect homework completed for the About.com XHTML class. In addition to XHTML tags, the homework also reflects proper usage of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) within XHTML, primarily to replace use of deprecated tags.

View my About.com XHTML class Homework Lessons 2 and 3. This homework page features presentational elements, using the span tag and CSS classes to represent formatted output. In particular, the lesson demonstrates the replacement of the BLOCKQUOTE tag with a CSS class of the paragraph tag.

View my About.com XHTML class Homework Lesson 4. This lesson focuses on the use of CSS to implement font families and HTML implementation of special characters, retained in XHTML.

View my XHTML About.com class Homework Lesson 5 -- Glossary using definition lists and an unordered list.

View my XHTML About.com class Homework Lesson 6 -- Insert Edited Photograph. The lessons revolved around processing of digital photographs for inclusion on a Web site. Both editing/retouching and compression issues were discussed.

Lesson 7 -- Insert hyperlinks using the "a" anchor tag. My XHTML About.com class Lesson 7 homework is fulfilled by the creation of this page of links for the homework for each week, as well as links found throughout my Geocities Web site. A bit out of order, but a fine example of an internal link, leading to (ficticious) specific times and locations, is part of the event calendar submission for Lesson 8. The calendar features external links to travel information for the cities listed.

View my XHTML About.com class Homework Lesson 8 -- Insert Content in Tables. This submission is derived from an event calendar originally created for a class at Miami-Jacobs, and now updated to XHTML and better usage using the span tag with the style attribute. Part of the update resulted in correct links from the calendar to travel info--no link rot!

View my XHTML About.com class Homework Lesson 9 -- Frames. Useful information about the use of frames was derived from the About.com tutorial and the corresponding W3 Schools pages.

View my XHTML About.com class Homework Lesson 10--forms. This survey reflects a Miami-Jacobs portfolio project in HTML and JavaScript, complete with appropriate field validation in JavaScript, but now set up as a mailto form.
