september 13, 2000 -- minneapolis, mn -- MEET YOUR MAKER The national IFP Consortium (a partnership which consists of IFP (New York City,) IFP/Midwest (Chicago,) IFP/North (Minneapolis/St. Paul,) IFP/South (Miami,) and IFP/West (Los Angeles,) is pleased to present Meet Your Maker, an evening with an independent filmmaker working in the digital domain. The program presented is a new Independent Film Channel (IFC) acquisition entitled Boxes, Directed by Rene Besson and Written and Produced by James Anthony Portolese. Boxes is an experimental film about trying to break out of your box and the day-to-day obstacles that can get in your way. Both Besson and Portolese will be present at the screening and will conduct a Q&A session following the screening. This activity is sponsored by the Independent Film Channel and Eastman Kodak. The filmmakers will be on hand to share their experiences bringing script to screen, navigating the festival circuit, and finding distribution. A cocktail reception will follow at the popular local Minneapolis bar Jitters.
