the independent film channel picks up boxes...coyote arm productions film to premiere october 18, 2000september 1, 2000 -- los angeles -- today the independent film channel is excited to announce the premiere of the coyote arm productions film, boxes... boxes, the satirical look at the everyday boxes that we all encounter. from the bed we sleep in, the car we drive in, to the cubicle we sit in at the office; from cradle to coffin, life is a series of boxes. boxes is set to premiere on the ifc on october 18, 2000, as part of the channels digital video feature. boxes, shot entirely on digital video, and produced on a budget less than a plane ticket from la to minnesota, was written by james anthony portolese, and directed by rene besson. boxes is the second project for portolese and besson. their production company, coyote arm films, co-founded with the co-producer on boxes, knute lemme, also has released the decade. the story of a fraternity hell week gone wrong. the independent film channel (ifc) is the first channel dedicated to independent film presented 24 hours a day, uncut and commercial-free. ifc reaches 31 million homes on a full-time basis and is the most widely distributed channel dedicated to independent film on television.
