Freddy Bosco's Biography

Born in Denver in 1948, Freddy Bosco has been writing and painting and performing since he was 14. The descendant of a family, some of whom were poets, he was appointed Poet Laureate of the City and County of Denver by the then  mayor in 1984 (although a subsequent mayor took the title back to give to a deceased and less embarrassing poet.)

Freddy Bosco's work has been published in the New Yorker, Harper's, Rolling Stone and Reader's Digest, along with numerous newspapers and several Little, Brown anthologies. In 2001 and 2003, he won first place in the Poets of the Streets contest produced by the Denver Voice.

While seeking fame and fortune in New York in the 70's, Freddy Bosco stopped off for a short visit in the famous Bellevue Hospital where he gained insight into the human heart in a personal way. His subsequent devotion to matters of the heart and spiritual growth have defined his passion for writing in a way that seeks to uplift readers into an experience of gratitude for the gift of life.
