PINK ALGINATE Impression Compound



FAST SET (Type 1, Class B). (Complies with B.S. 4269: Part 2: 1980).
Alginate Impression Compound combines good flow properties for recording fine detail, balanced body strength to prevent distortion and good elasticity to prevent tearing from undercuts.

It is safe for making moulds of hands and faces.

Instructions For Use

Powder / Water ratio = 1 to 1, i.e. one cup water to one cup powder.

  1. For optimum results mix with water at 20 degrees - 25 degrees. Outside this range the setting and working times are affected by approximately plus/minus 5 secs/degree C. The material remains useable between 15 degrees - 30 degrees C.
  2. Lightly dip measure into the powder, tap gently to eliminate air voids and level off with a spatula.
  3. Using a clean, dry mixing bowl, place required powder in first and then water. Mix vigorously for 30 seconds. (A broad spatula is useful for this).
  4. Working time 1 1/4 minutes (i.e. 75 seconds) from commencement of mix.
    Setting time 2 3/4 minutes (i.e. 2 minutes 45 seconds) from commencement of mix.
  5. Remove when set and rinse impression under COLD running water.
  6. Shake off surplus water and, where possible, cast model within 15 to 20 minutes.
  7. If immediate casting is not convenient, place impression in a sealed polythene bag with a damp but NOT WET cloth or tissue.
    Cast as soon as possible.
  8. This material is compatible with most dental plasters conforming to B.S. 4722 and 4796.
