Chenille Teddy
Materials needed: 2 chenille stems of the same colour for each bear.

Fold the first stem 2/3 of the way down. This will leave a rounded end at the top and two “legs” of differing sizes (picture a).
Bend the rounded end around your index finger to form a hook (b).
Bend the tip back onto itself to form the snout ( c)
Take the shorter length and wind a smaller loop at the side of the snout (d).
Do the same with the longer stem (this completes the head section (e).
To anchor it wind the shorter stem once around the longer one and trim off the end (f).Save the short piece to form the ears.

Take the second stem and fold it almost in half (leaving 25mm at 1 end), cut it into two pieces. You will have two pieces of different lengths.

Use the shorter length to make the arms. Fold the ends to the middle and twist the raw ends of the wire in.

Use the longer length to make the legs in the same way. Then hold the leg piece in the middle pull the ends down to form the legs. Bend the ends of the legs upwards to form the feet. (g).
Now the fun begins…

Take the head (which should still have the long stem attached to it). Place the arm section under the chin (on top of the long stem) and place the leg section under the arm section. (h).
Take the long stem up through the legs from the back to the front, up the front of the body, around the neck and back down the body. (i) Anchor the end through the leg section. (j)

Bend the arms forward. Take the leftover piece and cut it in half. Bend to form ears and stick to the head. Use beads or fabric paint to make the eyes and nose.

Have a beary happy time!
