A few days had passed since the 'love and passion in the Scottish Highlands-episode' of '8 fools visiting Billy Boyd', as the Scot himself called it, and everything was pretty back to normal again, except for the occasional moaning by Billy that he was a poor, poor guy being surrounded by idiots in love. That same Billy came with the great idea to have a typical Scottish night out with the lads. All the guys happily agreed to that after the mentioning of the words 'whiskey', 'beer' and 'party' and Billy was busy with the preparations, sneaking secret bags inside the house. What was in the bags? Everyone was soon to find out about that.
The question that was keeping everybody busy however was what had happened to Dom and Tamara. In that particular night Tam and Dominic had arrived back at Billy's place way after the others (although they too had been pretty late due to their escapades), twigs and leaves stuck to their clothes and hair. They seemed pretty damn close ever since, going out for walks together and the lot. The remaining guys and girls weren't trusting it one bit, especially since they always looked pretty messed up after coming back home again. No, something was going on and Elijah and Billy were determined to find out about it.
"So erm, what exactly is going on between you and Tamara?" Elijah asked Dom during breakfast while half of the group wasn't awake yet and the other half busy with other stuff.
Dominic nearly choked on his juice and spluttered "What!?"
"Oh come on mate, you know what I mean. The sneaking about, the walks, the talks. You two are acting just like me and Dee were before you knew what was going on with us." Lij explained like it was the most common thing in the world and Dom swallowed soundly.
"Well...it's nothing."
"Nothing my arse." Billy answered while entering the kitchen and snatching a piece of toast from Dom's plate "You were off in the hills for hours during full moon and you really wanna tell me nothing happened? Do you keep me for some kind of old fool?"
"Old yes, fool maybe." Elijah muttered, a reply that earned him a good smack on the back of his head from the Scot.
"It's private!" Dom complained and both Billy and Lij looked at eachother before getting up at the same time and walking towards the living room.
"Dee? What's going on between Dom and Tam?" Elijah asked while sitting down next to his girlfriend, knowing that if something had happened she would have gotten it out of Tamara already.
"They are shagging." she simply stated before going back to the book she was reading. Dom sighed deeply while Billy seriously exclaimed "Hmm, sounds very familiar. Deja vu?"
I would really appreciate it if youd be able to not get all excited about it and just let me and Tam be. Dominic said miserably and Elijah nodded.
Of course we wont hassle you. Not any more as you do to me and Dee anyway.
Fine. I guess we have to live with that then.
You bet you do. Anyway, since the missus isnt up yet, lets continue in her style and ask you tell us some juicy details. Billy told Dom with that innocent smile of his but Dom shook his head.
Oh no, William Boyd! You are not going to hear a word from me! Not in this life at least! Dominic exclaimed while stubbornly crossing his arms in front of his chest and shaking his head. Elijah and Billy both wanted to open their mouth to say something but Dee cut in with
Come on guys, let the poor man be. He has told you enough already.
I didnt, it was you. Dom told the girl but he was thankful for her helping hand to get away from his mates looks all the same. For as long as it took the lads to finally lock Dom up in a room and force the answers from him anyway!
Laughter was the first sign of something really funny coming up. Something that people would be still talking about in, let's say, five years time. The second sign was a door opening and closing again real fast, like someone was ashamed of actually coming out of a room. The sign that gave the final clue was a very happy Atti parading around the house in a kilt, yelling that the lads were all having really pretty legs. The girls at first didn't want to believe what was happening until the guys were lined up in front of them, all dressed in the traditional Scottish skirts.
"Erm...different." Tamara stated while weirdly looking at the five some.
"Right." Daphne exclaimed.
"Haute Couture?" this from Wendy.
A very loud giggle from Jenny.
"Well, is it good or bad?" Orlando questioned while staring down at his own naked legs and the tartan covering his hips.
"Neither. It's strange." Tamara told him before walking over to Dominic and slightly lifting the fabric "Atti was right however. You have nice legs. You should have waxed them, though."
"Are you insane? We are men. Men don't wax their legs." Dom shot back at her and Jenny giggled some more.
"May I remind you you are men dressed in skirts? So far for the masculine attitude." Tam replied with a roll of her eyes. Dee got up from the sofa and strutted over to Elijah, inspecting the look on his face before telling him softly "Hmm, I wonder..."
"Wonder what babe?"
"If the stories of men in kilts are right."
Lij cocked his head to the side, not really understanding what his girlfriend was talking about. Billy however knew very well and he started laughing.
"She wants to know what you're wearing underneath it, mate."
"Oh!"
Elijah's ears were turning crimson in a new world record time and he uncomfortably wiggled away from Wendy's touch on his arm.
"I...erm...later." was everything that left his mouth and Daphne whispered over to Jenny "So the answer is 'nothing'."
"Anyway girls, we gotta go. Don't do anything we wouldn't do." Orlando shouted while ushering his male friends out of the house and giving a little wave over his shoulder to the remaining lot. Some rustling of fabric and the lads were all out of the door.
"I don't trust this one bit." Daphne announced while staring at the closed door and Dee nodded in reply.
"Five handsome men, in kilts with nothing underneath it, all of them insane and in a few minutes surrounded by ale and whiskey. It will be a disaster."
"We should follow them. That way we can at least laugh at them when they make fools of themselves." Tam brought up and that idea was met with nods and applause...
"Are you sure it's here?" Wendy asked while driving the car towards an old, scary looking farmhouse.
"That sign on the side of the road said a Scottish night was taking place here. So it must be here. I don't think there are such nights here on every corner of every street." Daphne exclaimed but there was still a slight doubt until Tamara spotted Billy's car at the parkinglot.
The girls got out of their rented vehicle and sneaked up to the door, only to find a sign saying 'no admittance for women'.
"Now, what shall we bloody do?" Dee asked and Jenny pointed up to a window not to far from the ground. Daphne tried to open it and to their big surprise the wood and glass was easily moved aside. A small peak inside revealed a toilet and the girls realize climbing through it was their only chance to get inside. And so they did. Minutes later after clothes were torn and hairdo's were ruined the girls finally stood at the side of large room, watching how at least 50 men dressed in kilts were sitting at enormous tables, drinking like their lives depended on it (and maybe they did). Suddenly, like some sort of secret commando was given, all men stood up and began singing some kind of drinking song, hardly understandable due to the Glaswegian accents. The girls couldn't control themselves any longer and they burst out in laughter. There was one slight problem however. Their laughter was clearly recognizable over the male voice and just as abruptly as it had started, the singing ended again. Hundred eyes were looking at the foursome.
"Uhm...hi lads. Enjoying your evening? Hope you do. Erm...we're going again now. Hope to see some of you again anytime soon. Or maybe not. Goodbye then." Dee rattled while trying to push the girls out of the room to escape. They were too late and the guys closed them in.
"Who do you belong to?" one burly looking fellow questioned while pointing at the young women threateningly.
Nonobody. We came here by ourselves. Jenny stated while backing off as fast as possible but he was having none of it.
You realize you lot have made a huge mistake, havent you? There is no room here for lasses. Its a lads night out and as far as I can see you are female.
Stupid discrimination of women. Wonder how his wife keeps up with that. Daphne muttered under her breath and Tam answered back with If he has one, that is.
Well, before any other conversation lets give you what you deserve. Lads, lets get them out.
Another three men rose from their seats and grabbed each of the girls by an arm or shoulder in a not so gentle fashion. An almost comical looking pulling and pushing game was taking place when voice sounded from the crowd and the men were stopped. The girls smiled at the sight of their friends and boyfriends until they saw the expressions on their faces.
Alright Duncan, you can let go of them. We will take care of the matter now. Billy exclaimed while looking the girls up and down, a frown on his usual smiling face. Uh oh, this wasnt good at all!
Lets go then. Dom stated while taking Tamara by the arm and leading her away from the crowd and out of the cottage. The rest soon followed, some protests by the girls echoing through the nightly air.
We told you not to follow us right? Orlando questioned and Daphne rolled her eyes.
You really didnt think we would keep to that right? I dont trust a bunch of men going out in kilts together one bit!
Hmm, do you know what I think? I think we should punish them. Elijah all of a sudden cut in, wondering Dee on how evil her boyfriend could be if he wanted to. They werent really going to do that, right? Right!?
Sounds like a good idea to me, mate. Dominic nodded in reply.
We need a few hours to figure out what to do exactly but count on something spectacular. Orli agreed while looking at the young women with a grin.
Can I also entertain you with my ideas? Atti asked and the men nodded to that, knowing he would come up with some good stuff. The girls unfortunately knew that too and they all looked at each other in despair.
Right, thats settled then. Lets go home and have a meeting. Billy ended the conversation in that typical way of his and smiling at his friends while they escorted the girls to the cars. Revenge at last!
