Abortion is a tough one. I am pro choice. I would never have an abortion...ever. That is my choice. That doesn't mean that what's right for me is right for someone else. Yes, I do believe that abortions should not be allowed after the first trimester except to preserve the life of the mother. With today's medical advances the fetus can survive after the first trimester outside the womb. It has the ability to live independently of the mother. I have no right, however, to condemn those who believe otherwise. If a woman wants to have an abortion, for whatever reason, she and she alone can make that decision. She and she alone has to live with that decision. I may be appaled at her decision but it is her decision to make, her consequences to bear, her choice. |
