My weary eyes
Slowly blink into consciousness
Awake, but unaware
Here, but lost
A living zombie
Another night's sleep
Wasted away
The midnight stars illuminate my face
Searching through the darkness
To find my reality
A cold, dark reality
That keeps me alive
The glazed eyes
The blank expressions
Make it clear how I slept
Forbidden nightmares
Dark recesses of time
That normally heighten our senses
But now leave us drained
Horrid screams
Parrading through the night
Unthinkable horros
Rampaging unchecked
Invading my dreams
And releasing my fears
I turn to see the clock
It is two in the morning
I can't sleep
Pain stings through my spine
Like pins and needles
The agons wards off any rest
It is four
I toss in frustration
These waking images
Flickering through my mind
Another lost
Another comes in its palce
Yet, by morning I won't be able to thinkg straight
And so ends another sleepless night...
