| In 1984, Greg Kriesel and Bryan Holland(Dexter) founded a band called Manic Subcidal."We didn't know how to play instrument but it was ok at this time because the important was to have a band" said Dexter. They bought themself instruments and began to learn how to play. During this, Dexter was countinuing his study to be something else more than a singer in a punk band. Later, they inserted Noddles in the band but just as a permanent guitarist. As long as they began to know him, he became the official guitarist of the band. Ron was discovered because he was moving in the same town as the band.The sister of Ron knew Dexter so she presented him his brother.He became the drummer. Manic Subcidal needed to be new, to change his name so the members decided to change the current name by The Offspring. In 1989, Nemisis (a Punk label) discovered them and they recorded their first album, "The Offspring". In 1990, Brett Gurewitz from the Epitah records discovered the punk band. They put out the second album "Ignition" in 1992. 46,000 cd's have been sold but they was still unknown. In 1994, they put out the album "smash, the most succesfull album. "Ixnay On the Hombre" is the next album exactly released in 1997.The fans said that it's a flop but the band disagree because they're happy of their career.They wanted to prove that The Offspring wasn't a band of only one succes. In 1998, they released "Americana". The fans said that they prefer the punk of smash to the new punk. Personnaly, i prefer the new the offspring and Ixnay on the Hombre to Smash. ----->In 2000<-----They put out "conspiracy of one".That's a really good album even if some songs sound like smash album! |
