What's a Swear Word?

We seem to think it's: Fuck, Shit, Dick, Cunt, Asshole, Goddamn, Son of a bitch, etc.

But have you ever REALLY took a close look at those words?

'Cause if ya do, you may realize that they are pretty silly…..and funny.

Therefore, what I'd like to do is focus on a few words which are considered rude or profane in our society……and try to figure out WHY.

What do you say we begin with the 'humdinger-daddy' of swear words…..

FUCK

(aka….screw, make love, hump, doin' the dirty, makin' babies, homerun, laid, boning, poked, losing virginity, badass cuss word, more serious version of 'damn'! etc.)

This is a pretty serious word. In fact, it's sooo serious that we use it in various ways ('fuck with it') in order to express various attitudes, opinions, angers, actions and ways of getting our point across……and then some.

So, where did this word come from?

I'm sure it has some Greek or mythological background that I'm unaware of, but that really doesn't matter if you say it to yourself 10+ times….'cause it begins to sound pretty fucking stupid.

But all the same, we seem to consider it a pretty naughty word, and as a result, created several uses for it:

Fuck you, Fuck off, Fuck it, Fuckin' A, Fucker, Fuckface, Fuck yourself, Fuck me, Fucked up, Fucked, flying Fuck (do these exist?), Fuck head, etc Fuck.

Isn't that sounding silly already?

Do realize you can get killed for using this word?

For instance, if you say to someone "screw you!"….they'll laugh at you.

But, if you say "Fuck you!"…..we're talkin' a possible WWIII here.

Why?

I have no fucking idea.

But I do know that I wouldn't dare allow my parents to hear me use this word when I was growing up.

And how about this……if you say you wana to 'fuck someone', that's considered disrespectful and will probably be followed by a SLAP in the face (or kick in the nuts).

BUT, if you say 'I want to make love to you'……you're good to go….maybe not laid, but the respect factor remains (in most cases).
