Mum and Dad visit the Philippines |
Well Mum and Dad left this morning after their month long visit! The time really flew by and they got to see a heap of different places here in the Philippines. The trip started when I met them in Manila last month. After checking out the sights of the big city including the Greenhills Market and the nightlife in Malate, we headed off to Tagaytay. With taxi driver Alex as our guide (Dad befriended him a day earlier and he offered to take us on the 2 hour drive south) we made our way to Sonyas Garden Bed n Breakfast. Sonya runs an organic garden and guesthouse on the outskirts of Tagaytay town. The food was spectacular as was the antiques based dcor! We checked out the famous Lake Taal that has one of the smallest volcanoes in the world in the middle of a Lake. After a wonderful stay we left Manila for Tagbilaran and checked out the surrounding islands over the next few weeks. Alona beach, Cabilao Island, El Dorado resort near Dumaguete and the city of Cebu. We even managed my 5th trip to the Chocolate Hills and the tarsier sanctuary. All said a wonderful trip and I am glad they came over to see what my life here is like! Seeya in a couple of months Mum and O.C.. |
