I'm sure everyone is wondering why I'm making a page about something that could not be any less related to jrock and japan. But...much as with my Alton Brown page, Stephen King is someone that I respect to the point that I believe he deserves his own page. I've been a fan of his since I was about...10, I'd say. I've always enjoyed reading and found that, while I don't enjoy science fiction much, the type of horror that comes hand in hand with Stephen King was quite pleasant. I'm sure it seems odd that I would be reading books that are obviously made for adults at such a young age, but when I was 10, I had already made my way through the books for young adults and found that Carrie (the first book of his that I read) was much better than the RL Stine bullshit that the librarian recommended. My parents weren't pleased, but they we'ren't about to tell their daughter that she wasn't allowed to read. Having liked Carrie so much, I moved on to It.  Wow. I spent the better part of a summer on that book and yes, it was worth it. Since then, I've made my way through just about everything that he has written and own several of them, including Carrie (probably my favourite novel), The Green Mile (the first book I've ever read that made me cry),The Dark Tower series (a happily received Christmas present), Dreamcatcher (a fitting birthday present, since it came out on my birthday), and Everything's Eventual (which has quickly become one of my favourites). So, I guess the point of this page is that I'm yet to read a book of his that i didn't like and I think that everyone should try one. My favourites would have to be....the ones that I own, Misery, It, and Needful Things. Thanks for putting up with my random ramblings.
