Mario Kart is making it's 3rd lap onto Nintendo systems, this time on the extremely powerful and marketable Gameboy Advance. And I do declare that it lives up to the legend of the previous 2 games (the N64 and SNES versions) Essentially the concept is that you try to outrace characters from the mario games, as a character from said games. With an arsenal of weapons at your disposal you can disrupt their racing in a various number of ways.

The good: The graphics for this game are possibly the most impressive. They qualify somewhere in between the graphics for SNES and the Graphics for N64. Which is pretty good. They bring back all the good weapons from the previous 2 games. Including the always potential for backfire Green Turtle Shell. Making it very possible to hit yourself in trying to disrupt others. They also add a new feature of being able to send a ghost ahead of you to slow down the lead car. Which is a huge advantage if you just can't seem to get into first place without a little help. They offer single game pack and multi game pack multiplayer options. Granted the multi game pack options are way better single is always good for just showing your friends that, yes, you are the man when it comes to karts.

The bad: For starters there are only 8 playable characters. Mario Kart has never been known for a huge list of playable characters but I kind of wanted more than 8 of them. Another negative feature is that my favorite character from the origional, the Koopa Troopa, was no where to be found. just his shell to throw as a weapon which, isn't nice at all.

All in all this is just another reason to purchase the Game Boy advance. The superior feel to the previous Nintendo hand-helds and the surprising fun of the games. As the library increases I can honestly say that it's games like this, that make it all worth while.
