| The greatest reason for buying a dreamcast was the Crazy Taxi video game. So I guess to remain in competition with PS2 for the remainder of the year they decided to release Crazy Taxi 2. The premise of the origional game is you're a reckless cab driver out to make a quick buck. However the origional had fun minigames that also made the game worth playing. Other than minor cosmetic upgrades Crazy Taxi 2 is more of the same. Don't get me wrong, sometimes more of the same is good. However this was the greatest game for DC the sequel should be even better. Sadly it was equal maybe even a little below. The good: The few new features include the ability to make the cars jump. Which adds a lot to the game in jumping over obstacles to get passengers to their destinations, and adds a whole fresh feel to the mini games. Another new feature is the ability to pick up two passengers at once, which adds a whole new level of challenge speeding to get two people to two different places in a certain amount of time. The Bad: The music was the worst feature. Crazy Taxi 1 had a various mix of origional songs from different bands that, yes, did include the Offspring. However CT2 just had three songs off Offsprings latest album "Americana". I have said Album and, yes, it is pretty good, however it's not the sort of thing I want to hear over and over while I am trying to execute manuvers for bonus points. The music get so repetitive after a while that it's maddening. So in conclusion, should you buy Crazy Taxi 2? Well, yeah but only if you don't have Crazy Taxi 1. That way you won't feel burned by the "more of the same" concept like I do. |
