| The newest in the historic Mega Man series is also probably the greatest. It features a few playable characters including 2 different costumes for Mega Man and the cooler character Zero. It's plotline consists of a sentient virus trying to take over the Earth turning the robotically enhanced Maverick Hunters into Mavericks themselves. The only two Hunters unaffected are Mega Man X and Zero. Lets talk playability, In a world of 3D games PS1 didn't feel the urge to stray too far from the 2D side-scrolling format. Which is how Mega Man was always meant to be played. It of course relies entirely on D-Pad control and the fun part is you can obtain character upgrades for the playable characters. I also think you can obtain more armor for Mega Man. When you start the game you can choose between Mega Man, Mega Man in the "Fourth Armor", and Zero. Well if there is a Fourth Armor wouldn't that Imply 3 more armors? Just a thought. The Story is good and the most fun part of the game is how after you beat bosses you can still use their weapons against other bosses. That is the coolest. The last time I played a Mega Man game was on the old Nintendo Entertainment System, and I couldn't even win one level. However in this game I advance like crazy. I understand it's the easiest game in the series, and I do not doubt it. However this game is also a fun little romp through a future time plagued with troubles. I recommend it to any one who likes gaming nostalgia or to anyone who is just looking for a few days to kill. |
