Bud is trained in reining, cutting, roping, and halter. He has proven to be a very successful sire, throwing duns and red duns over half of the time, with leopards and blankets. Their performances have been terrific, and all have shown exceptional reining and cutting abilities. Bud himself is a clown. He tears around his paddock when let out in the mornings, kicking up grass, mud, snow, whatever the earth beneath him may be. He's always so full of life! He has his own band of mares in the spring and summer months, and is left to roam with them in the numerous rolling, green acres at FRC. He still competes in reining events, but is mostly retired to halter and stud.
