Playoff Game # 1

Finally after weeks of built up Anticipation  the Centurions played the first meaningful game of the season as the Centurions took on the all mighty rookie sensations. It was a game that featured the 2nd and 3rd placed teams of pool A battling out for the shot to Face Danger Patrol in the Pool A finals. It was a single game knock out, so the centurions backs were against the wall. The puck dropped and both teams came out and fought hard. The Centurions managed to control the play though as nerves settled down and started to put a lot of pressure on the rookies and before the first period had ended Bobbie managed to rip one past Devin Price scoring his first of the playoffs.

After the goal the centurions tasted blood and they wanted more as they now went for the kill, stopping the distance pass to Patty K and sending the puck right back down into their end. The team got chance after chance until Brent Milljour in typical Milljour fashion, took an incredible slap shot from the side and managed to squeak it past the rooks tender. The pressure didn't stop as Bobbie MacDonald went back to work, getting his second of the game. The last 2 minutes of the game was complete annihilation as Brett McCormac managed to pick a corner with 10 seconds left to lift the centurions to a 4-0 win!!!!

TSN's Monster Performer

Bobbie MacDonald

This is the first time Bobbie MacDonald has been chosen as TSN's monster performer, but it is well worth the wait as Bobbie MacDonald was on fire this game scoring 2 goals and getting 1 assist. He played strong through out the whole game creating chances and getting them. He came close to scoring 5 goals as it took a couple of miraculous saves by their goalie to stop this monster. Bobbie finished the game as a plus 4 and really lead the team.

I would also like to say that Mr. Devon Price of the Rookies played phenomenal in keeping that a 4-0 loss. But for the first time, I think everyone else would agree that he deserves a mention as he played truly fantastic

Coach Chankavich's Keys for Next game

After this game, coach Chankavich was too ecstatic to post a message but the day after gave me the following statement

"The boys did exactly what I wanted them to do and it really looked good out there. Not much to say except, we will be preparing for danger patrol. Until Next time"
