Game # 2

Both teams made their way on to the floor of the gymnasium to a nearly sold out crowd of 40. Both teams felt the music as their hearts pounded with anticipation for the referee's whistle to start the game. The centurions got off to what I would describe as a bumpy start. The centurions seemed a bit too on edge to start this game which got the Dooshmonators fired up. They saw this and they attacked it in the early goings, giving everything they had, getting numerous scoring chances. Gordon Templeton shut the door as each attempted became a failed attempt in a matter of seconds. In the second half of the first period, the Centurions settled down their nerves, and began to take control of the game. And with just over one minute left, Devin MacAulay fed a pass out to Captain Ryan Buchanan, who made absolutely no mistake and buried it making it a 1-0 game.

In the second period, the domination continued, as there were very few moments that the dooshmonators actually touched the ball. The passing became better and better as time went on and any shot fired at Gordon Templeton was easily pushed aside . Play was constantly in the Monators end as they could not seem to find an answer to the Centurions strong play. The Centurions Failed to put another one on the board although they had 1 goal by Brett McCormac called back, after what was described as the net being off its moorings, and as well as an unseen goal as Brent Milljour tickled the twine but was so fast that no one noticed, not until further review of the tape did we spot that.

But not even having 2 goals called back was enough to stop this mighty wrecking ball as the final score was 1-0, Centurions pick up their second win of the season to sit tied atop of pool A.

TSN's Monster Performer

Gordon Templeton

For the second game in a row, TSN has picked Gordon Templeton as our monster performer. With great ease, Gordon Handled 11 quality shots and through them aside without blinking an eye.

After the game we caught up with team mate Devin MacAulay who said " No question about it, Gordo was the monster today"

And Captain Ryan Buchanan said " We might have played sloppy d but we know we got Gordon back there and were confident he will make the save."

Honorable Mention goes out to Captain Ryan Buchanan, who netted his first of the season, and flat out played a damn good game. Hats off to him.

Coach Chankavich's Keys for Next game

Well my keys to the next game are start solid Defense pair as next game will be the crutial tiebreaker, in determining who will place number 1 in pool A. We need to focus on key players on the other teams as we have scouted out their abilities, while keeping in mind that we can't just forget about their remaining players. The passing was good, and the shooting was good, although I would like to see more shots actually test the goalie by the hitting the net, and more shots taken when they are available, as we don't need to make our goals prettier then the other team, just get more of them.

From scouting Danger Patrol, I have discovered on the teams Major weaknesses, and with proper preparation, we should be able to exploit that weakness and really gain the upper hand.

Overall, I feel confident about next weeks game. Both teams will be out there fighting hard, but I believe that we will eventually, come out on top as the better team. I know what my team is capable of, and from what we've seen, this is just the tip of the iceberg, as we have many more tricks up our sleeves.

So just a bit of advice to Danger Patrol next Tuesday, don't make any mistakes because we will capitalize on all of them. Until Next time...
