Domains of Traumatic Experience

/user/acs27.jpg

The Spiritual Domain of traumatic perience is a time of integration.  Whereas the Cognitive Domain has been dominated by backward looking at the event and by defensive mechanisms which in essence attempt to write revisionist history (without the traumatic event and the dynamics of its experience), the Spiritual Domain is forward looking.  It allows the event to be historical -- part of lived history -- and attempts to deal with the questions about where one goes from here.
