God’s Wrath Against Mankind
Rm 1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness…
What is our greatest privilege in America? Being a US Citizen? Knowing God? Are we still one nation under God? Is our nation filled with dead men walking?
1. 4 Areas where God manifests himself – he makes himself known to us
A. Through his creation…Rm 1:19,20 “…God is plain to them…men are without excuse.”
B. Through our conscience…Rm 2:14-15 “…their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing,”
C. Through Jesus Christ…Heb 1:3-4 “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being,…”
Jn 10:30 “I and the Father are one.”
D. Thru the bible/scripture…2 Pt 1:2-5 “…through the knowledge of God …[He]gives us everything…]
2 Ti 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking…”
Heb 4:12 “[the Word] …living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword…”
Jer 15:16 “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy…”
Jer 23:29 “Is not my word like a fire…like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?”
Ps 119:105 “your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”
We desire a clear picture of God, but if we do not keep manifested in him… our link with him is distorted.
2. 4 Stages we go through in distortion from God – not acknowledging God, Romans 1:21-32
A. Intelligence-(v:21, 22) “…their thinking became futile…claimed to be wise...”
B. Ignorance-(v:21) “…their foolish hearts were darkened…they became fools…”
C. Indulgence(v:23-32) “…exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images...
D. Un-penitent heart (penitent-feeling or expressing sorrow for sin) (v 24-32)
What to say to a non-believer…If you die tomorrow where are you going?
“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” 2 Chr 7:14-15
