| This activity usually starts at the fraternity/sorority house. The pledges are told to arrive at a certain time, and depending on the weather, to dress accordingly. When they arrive they are searched for any money. If any is found, it is taken and held for them. They are then blindfolded and put into cars. They are then driven around for about an hour or so to make the pledges think that they are very far away from where they started. When in fact they aren't that far away at all. Usually the pledges are just driven around town in circles just far enough so they don't know where they are. When they reach the spot of the "drop off", the pledges are led out of the cars and the blindfolds are removed. They are then told to find their own way back to school. They are not allowed to use any phones, approach any houses, and usually they are told to stick to the roads. They are also told that this is a good time to bond, get to know each other, use teamwork, and to quiz each other on the organization stuff. If they start going in the wrong way, usually the pledge master/mom will redirect them. |
