| Timely Needs - Hospitalizations, Surgeries, etc. Please pray for Joann's daughter Leanne. Her flare-up is not settling, but her family physician is not able to get her in to the GI for about a month. She is continuing to Student Teach. She saw a GI Surgeon on Tuesday (1/21) afternoon, but he deferred to her regular GI, whom she can't get in with for a month (see above). Until then she is on all liquids and continuing to loose weight. In the last week and a half she has lost 15 lbs and most of her energy. She is under a lot of stress from fear that her condition will affect her teaching career negatively. Thanksgiving Terry's daughter Mallory is recovering well from surgery to remove a screw from her femur. Marjorie's son Jake is recovering from mono and his UC has been under control during this secondary illness. Erika's son Giorgio has gained a pound of weight and an inch of height. General Updates and Prayer Requests Terry's son Michael seems to be going into a flare. Michael's Crohn's Disease has always been mild to moderate in severity and he has been in remission for quite a while. Please pray that he does not enter a full blown flare. Please also pray, that if he does flare, it is mild and managable. Erika's son Giorgio is nearing the end of his taper off of prednisone. He has been on it for a year. Please pray that the end of the weaning process will go well. Please also pray that Imuran will keep him in remission. Nat and Mindy's son Drew is on a family trip to Europe and China. Please pray for their safety and for Drew's CD to remain at bay for the duration of their trip. Pat's son Tyler is starting Imuran. Please pray for Tyler that he can handle it and doesn't get any of the dreaded side-effects. Please also pray that his parents made the right decision. Other Requests from Parents of Kids with IBD Leah�s friend Jim (14 years old) has bone cancer. Leah�s husband is experiencing GI problems. His symptoms have gotten worse and he has lost weight this past year. Please pray that the source of his symptoms is easy to identify, treat, and cure. |
