John Kuhlman / Anna Cornelius

 

John Bernard Kuhlman is believed to be from Baden, Baden, Germany.

He and wife Anna Kathrina Cornelius were in Cincinnati, Ohio by 1866.

Two of their children were born in Cincinnati .

1. William Henry Kuhlman b. <1863>, place unknown

2. Mary Ana Elizabeth b. 1866, Cincinnati

3. Ernest Christian b. 1871, Covington, Kentucky

Family lore has it that Anna and children came on a train to New Orleans, La.

The youngest child, Ernest, hid under her dress because they did not have enough money.

There is no mention of John B. We don't know if he came to N.O. before the family or stayed in Kentucky.

 He possibly died before they came to N.O.

 

William Henry married in NO 1887 to Whilemina Clements and moved to Franklin, la by 1890 (census).

Anna Kathrina died Oct. 1892, Franklin, La.  On the back of a newspaper obituary there is a hand written date

and name (Jan 14, 1884, J.B Kuhlman).  It is possibly his death date.
