One corner of the conservatory contains this box. Each butterfly will emerge from it's chrysalis when it is ready. The butterfly's human friends release them periodically during the day as they emerge. This new butterfly's wings are still damp from being "born" and they look like crumpled paper at first.
The liquid in this container is food for the butterflies. It contains a brillo pad for them to land on; this keeps their wings from getting wet when they dine.
The butterfly on my finger was just released from it's chrysalis and from the protective box.
An occasional bird diverts our attention.....
