Jill McIntire writes-                It is quite a revelation to review those yearbook pages and discover the buried memories that may or may not be like you remember them to be. I've managed to keep in touch with two or three people from FAHS, but seeing these photos reminded me of other friends and acquaintances I've not thought of for some time.
Susie Richter writes-               Celebrated 40 by going back to Germany, a few years ago. Drake is now owned by the Polizi as a training school and Edwards was being converted to and industrial building complex. Saw Abrams 3 days before it got turned over. My last picture of the IG Farben Bldg. has old glory flying in the rain on an 'overcast' day.
Brenda Fowler Lindes writes-   .Hi I went to Frankfurt American High School 63-end of 65. Lived in Platen Housing and Drake Edwards kaserne.....Worked in snack bar main PX and Edwards. Enjoyed teen club, Kraut hill, Bonames, and local gast houses. Oberursel swimming. Mother had two babies while there.
Bobbi (clark) Hogwood writes- I was a member or the graduating class of 1964. Have you heard that they closed FAHS and have actually torn the building down?  Sad.
MY FAVORITE
Rick Hughes writes- Attended OBERAMMERGAU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 57'-58'. Best friend was George Cattermole (now living in San Francisco area, a teacher/professor... his wife controls their phone and won't allow contact, so don't bother trying! had some good times together, guess I was the only one who did.) .........(I found NATALIE BLACKSHEAR, Now a "Jehova's Wittness" and thinks I'm a stalker for trying to find her). Anyway, I miss all of you and there are others whose friendship was just as important to me.
My friends would not come to the mountain so the mountain went to his friends- I visited my friends Peter Howells and Marina Shankland in Colorado Springs, Co. (who haven't seen each other in years) and My friend Peter says that he went back to Edwards in the early 90's and that the housing area had run down considerably and he felt really bad about the way it looked. He says that the area was fenced in (probably because of possible terrorists). He also visited the German Hill (lucky guy) and I have often thought of going back myself but I may now prefer to keep it in my memories the way it was and that way it will always remain the same.
My friend Peter and I meet again for the first time after 40 years
Holly Mistlebauer (who has a FAJHS page) writes- "The military moved out of Frankfurt a few years ago.  The PX was torn down and is now a State of Hessen office building. The commissary was there in Oct.1999 but I suspect that it will go next. The Idle Hour is just sitting there empty, as is FAJHS (Drake- Edwards Junior High). The old FAHS building was added on to and is now some type of German trade School. It is odd to see everything changed so much"   She went back to visit in 1981, 1996, and 1999 so she should know especially since she took all those pictures on her page.
Jens (A German national) contacted me by the internet and currently lives in the old Edwards housing area and writes " If you lived in Edwards Housing till the early 60's then of course alot has changed. For example in the late 60's they have built about 10 tower blocks (for living) across the street.
Right now Edwards kasern is pulled down and a new housing area will be built there. The Housing area is still alive; streets and some buildings have been redeveloped. Drake Kaserne is still there; it is used by special police unit. (Thank you Jens for letting us know)
Phil Joulian writes- I graduated from Frankfurt High in 1962.  I was in Frankfurt in Sept. 2001 and tried to find the school buildings.  I found them but it was a sad sight.  The buildings are either gone or in a bad state of repair.  I lived in Gibbs husing area and that has been truned over to the Germans as housing.  The buildings in actual Gibbs kaserne looked as though they were being gutted prior to renovation by someone.
