Home Economics Room
In this class we study topics such as sewing, cooking and nutrition, interior decorating, childcare, money management, and consumerism.
This year, 2009-2010, Home Economics will be offered to 7th and 8th grade students during the 2nd and 4th quarters. We will focus on our cooking skills, reviewing safety and sanitation in the kitchen, safe food handling practices, nutrition, meal planning, specific cooking techniques and skills, and equipment knowlege.
Our second quarter project will be the "gingerbread" houses and in the Spring, we will bake for and host the Volunteer Tea.
Sewing will be offered this year as part of the 21st Century Learning Center. Classes will be from 3:45-5:15 pm on Wednesdays. Please watch the newletter for sign up information for this program.
There is a $10 lab fee requested if you are able.
