| Welcome back to Drama Class! Hope everyone had a great summer. Each year our drama classes perform three productions. The first performance will be 3rd grade on December 17. Next the 4th and 5th grade class will perform on March 4. The Jr. High drama program will grab the spring slot and perform on May 20. Third grade drama is part of our 21st Century Program and meets 3:40-4:30 Mondays and Wednesdays. Third grade drama will focus on learning basic speaking and acting skills and end with a production of the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta "The Pirates of Penzance". 4th - 5th graders meet from 3:40-4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This 21st Century class will expand on the basics of speech and performance and use those skills to put on a production in March. Jr. High drama classes are offered as part of the regular curriculum at Franklin School. Jr. High drama will cover various styles of comedy and drama, and include an introduction to technical theater and the audition process. All Jr. High students will be invited to audition in February for the Jr. High play. Jr. High PLAY PRACTICE is an extra curricular activity held after school 2nd semester. Participation is by audition only. |
