Groups need to establish what their

intended purpose is and write it down so everyone
involved can agree on it and know what they are trying
to accomplish. This is a process that comes out of
discussion with interested people.Here is a proposed
 mission statement to get the discussion going.


Proposed Mission Statement

The Franklin County Peace Alliance is an
organization of citizens committed to the peaceful
resolution of conflict and the creation of a US
government policy based on this principle. We
believe US foreign policy must respect international
law and operate within the guidelines of the
 Constitution of the United States and the United Nations,
particularly the UN Charter and the UN

Declaration of Human Rights.

 Our principle mission is to engage in educational programs
 and political actions that will expand the awareness of

these principles for both the citizenry of Franklin County, Vermont
 and governmental decision makers.

Towards these ends, the Franklin County Peace Alliance initiates its
own campaigns and actions and responds to US policy in
coalition with regional and national anti-war, peace
organizations and movements.
