1. Carlos (Carling)
Note: Dr. Carlos Delgado is the son of Vicente Zosa
whose daughter is Thelma Zosa, the former Congresswoman
of Cebu. Her son, Congressman Almario of Cebu is the nephew
of Dr. Carlos Delgado. Carling, as he is called by his older folks,
graduated in 1953 from the College of Medicine, University of
the Philippines. He was a very successful plastic surgeon in San
Francisco, California where he owned real properties and was
a part owner of a hospital. He married a beautiful young nurse
(according to Auntie Inday) who was of Irish descent.
Last July 4, 2005 Muira, Noy Carling's eldest daughter,
together with her 3 sons of French husband came to fetch her
father from Cebu City, and we had a family get together in May
Hermosisima Santos's condo at Prince Plaza in Ayala triangle. Auntie
Inday (Conchita Torres Hermosisima) at 83 was there with her
other daughter Dinah with husband Brook Loomis and son Dino H.
Santos. May's younger son, Sidney, was also present.
At first I mistook Muira to be the eldest sister of the 3 boys
because she looks very young at 44 -- just lik 29 or early thirties.
She looks like a movie star and I can't imagine how her mother
could be more beautiful than her, according to Auntie Inday.
After their trip to Banaue I understand Noy Carling went back to
Cebu City and his brood to USA.

2. Samuel
3. Emmanuel
4. Antonio
5. Gloria
6. Franklin
7. Lorna
8. Absalon (Bimbo)
Note: My father's surname should have been Carreon
because the 3rd husband to be of Lola Conching was the elder
brother of Felicing Carreon -- the husband of Meding Gonzales
Delgado, eldest sister of my father. Unfortunately, Lola Conching's
mother, Felipa Lozada Gonzales resisted my father's father and
refused to give Lola Conching to him in sacred vows of marriage.
Noy Carling recounted Lola Pepay's resistance to the marriage
as saying, in vernacular or Spanish, "it is more impossible than waters
of river flowing back to its spring." My father related to me Lola Pepay
wanted Lola Conching to marry instead her suitor, Antonio, who
was a rich man. However, my father's father and Lola Conching have
already lived together and my father was my Lola Conching's pregnancy.
To spite Lolo Carreon, Lola Pepay named my father, Antonio, after
my Lola's rich suitor.
My father's earlier years were poverty with his grandmother as
they two lived among our relatives in Barili, Cebu and Polo,
Negros Oriental. It must have been hard for Lola Pepay who obviously
was raised in a rich invironment in her younger days.
My father was poor, he attempted to study medicine but could not
afford it. I remember he used to tell me back then, the mother of President
Arroyo, Eva Macaraeg, who later became First Lady herself, offered to
help him finance his medical course. But for some reasons he declined.
Instead he accepted a clerical job facilitated by one of his uncles in Cebu
for the hospital Director in Camp Keithly, Dansalan, which is now called
Marawi City. The job was stenographer-typist. Without any formal
schooling in these skills, he hurriedly devised his own system of
stenography and off he went to work to a far away place.
The hospital Director was used to dictation, and in my father's
first job the Director commented, "guapo pero tonto!" My father met
my mother who was a nurse in the same hospital and they were married
after a while. After World War II my father struggled to finish Law in spite
of us 8 children he had to leave with my mother in the province. After
graduating at FEU and passing the Bar, my father became a carrier
diplomat in the Department of Foreign Affairs; was sent to the Hague,
Netherlands as Economic Attache; was Administrative Officer at the
Philippine Embassy in Germany until he was recalled back to the
Philippines during the time of President Marcos.
The one who recommended him to Pres. Carlos P. Garcia to
become Philippine Representative to The Hague, Netherlands on an
international forum about wheat flour, was his Na Loleng, who was a
best friend of Inday Garcia, the First Lady. She was one of 6 children
of Pedro Lozada (Pendoy), the son of Valeriano Lozada.

concerned may call my attention. Sam, please recall to me the name of Josefina

you asked Auntie Inday about him.
