20. Joseph Mathenia⁴ GORDON (Alson³, Samuel², Alexander¹)⁽³⁴⁾ was born in Forks of Pigeon, Haywood County, North Carolina 27 January 1871. Joseph died 6 December 1940 in Tryon, North Carolina, at 69 years of age.⁽³⁵⁾ His body was interred 8 December 1940 in Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery, Saluda, NC.⁽³⁶⁾

He married Mary Jane Bradley 3 January 1897.⁽³⁷⁾ Mary was born 30 June 1871. Mary died 10 February 1953 in Buncombe County, North Carolina, at 81 years of age. Her body was interred 12 February 1953 in Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery, Saluda, NC

Joseph Mathenia GORDON and Mary Jane Bradley had the following children:
