| Little Odyessy |
| Little Odyessy is a broad summit that is located just past the "Gap". Drive throught the "Gap" and park at the first turn out on the right. This is a good early season descent as it sees snow early but suffers from wind through out the season. The ridge that is used for ascent can be quite wind scowered. Look for interesting rime formation on rocks and out croppings. The north face itself has many variable but generally starts out in the mid 30 degree range, steepening mid-mountain into the 40's. There are many alternatives on the face most of which share the same character. Total descent for the run is around 1500', if you ski to the absolute bottom. Some parties head to skier's right (west) near the bottom to lessen the ski out. The ascent ridge gets skiied on occasion and has the unoffical name of "Gremlins". It is low angle and usually has a lower avalanche hazard. |
