Leaf In the Wind

When did I part

with the little girl so full of curiosity

I worked so hard

to build a castle that protects me

from harsh realities

How could I know these are the walls

that lock out the adventurer in me

No matter how I live

I wanna keep the freedom in my heart and soul

Leaf in the wind

take me where the wind of change blows

Leaf in the wind

take me where the life rides with the flow

I get so scared

of Father Time that peels away the layers of my life

My sight gets impaired

by the mask I wear to hide what's really inside

I get too far under to see

what my life's really meant to be

I have to find a way

to let myself live day by day trust my destiny
