At night I hear melodies of sunlight

Metamorphoses in time

I see rhythm in your eyes

 

Lovers that awakened from deep slumbers

Like butterflies learning to fly

Painting rainbows with their wings

Against the sky

 

And though you’ve led me in from the cold

I still shiver from the old

Memories

Set me free

And let me hold this moment of peace

 

Yesterday’s woes lead us fire for tomorrow

Tears from the past boorish seeds that we sow

The drinks of despair quenches pain as we grow

 

We’re always reaching

I hear the calling

 

Change is coming

Never stopping

Always moving

Life is changing

 

Wonders never cease as days of thunder

Turns the silent page of Spring

And the poetry it brings

 

Some days you amaze me with your blue gaze

Like kaleidoscopic rays

I feel sheltered in the truth

That you embrace

 

Taming the wild but saving the child

I walk those miles to the sea

Floating

To where the waves will take me

 

Into the night armed with light that we’ve borrowed

Changing to day in a cycle that flows

Never the same colors, black, red or yellow

Shades in between all the highs and the lows
