A native of Arizona and a Mesa resident, Francisco Xavier Aguilar y de Luna has been painting professionally for five years. Educated and trained as an architectural designer and model builder, Francisco has also worked for semiconductor giant Motorola as an Operations Instructor. Aguilar's art is strongly influenced by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, American artist Alexander Calder, and Mexican artist Diego Rivera. Aguilar is fond of painting the moon on his canvasses, which has become a trademark of sorts. He also shows strong religious influences in his paintings and sculptures by his portrayals of Christian crucifixes and Jewish Stars of David.
