This seventeenth century painting in the style of Brother Pozzo, S.J. commemorates Ignatius' sending of Francis Xavier to India in 1540.

Xavier traveled to India and then to Japan. He is buried in Goa. The picture today hangs in the rooms of Ignatius in  Rome.
