The bells of Church of St Francis Xavier

The two bronze bells weighing more than a three tonner vehicle when put together have pealed for more than 110 years, calling the Catholic community to prayer and worship. These bells were installed during the period of Fr E.F. Delouette as parish preist and were cast in 1884 by the Eugene Bandouin Fondeurs workshop at Marseille in France. Both bells were embossed with written messages in Latin and a cross on each of them. Whenever the church bells ring they send a message to you. Below is the English translation of their messages.

1st bell (large)         - Glory to God in the highest
                                 - St Francis Xavier, pray for us

2nd bell (medium)    - Glory to God in the highest
                                 - Blessed be the name of the Lord forever
