History and Stories in The Franciscan Spirit
There are two sides to every story. Every story can
be retold by recognizing the HAND OF GOD as events unfold thru
the centries - adding understanding and depth.
The HOLY SPIRIT becomes
like a COMET traveling through time, as it pulls souls into the
magnetic force of God who is LOVE
[ FRA JOSE' QUILIS, TOR (1934-2000) Minister General 1983-1995 - died Sept 14th, 2000 Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross --- The SFO is like the grass of the field that takes root everywhere, becomes green continually and produces flowers unceasingly. He called on all to increase HARD WORK, SERVE MANY, LOVE MUCH, and PRAY MUCH. (cf Acta TOR, n.16 p.135)]
St. Francis wanted two
things : to LOVE as much as God and to SUFFER as He did.

Membre, a Franciscan, accompanied LeSalle to the mouth of the Mississippi where he planted a CROSS in the name of Louisiana for God and King Louis of France.
