| This is ofcourse,my favorite time of the year.Let me tell you of one of this winter's escapades.Birthdays for my children are very special at my house,and is enjoyed by everyone,whether there is alot of 'money or not.I am really into making childhood 'memories for my children,they only have one childhood,and it is so very brief.We have been talking about going iceskating for years.For my son's sixteenth birthday,we went to the new indoor iceskating rink.Now keep in mind,none of us had ever even been on iceskates.So here we go on the ice.The first thing I noticed,besides hanging on the wall,is the little four and five year olds skating like they were born with them on,did I feel stupid.I was holding my five year old's hand trying to hold her up,ha!Somehow she was doing better than her mother.My kids ofcourse took about ten minutes,and they were gliding everywhere.Hi,Mom,how you doing ,as they flew by me,Oh,I'm fine,please take your little sister before I kill us both.But then,I start to feel much better about my skating ability,which was about a foot further a minute,when I saw my husband ,every half a turn,fall on the back of his pants.It was great,we have never laughed so much,at my husband's expense,ofcourse,the funny part was every time he fell,he was laughing so much he could hardly get up,which gave everybody in that rink,the greatest time.I finally got off,when I fell to my knees,and hit my head on the sidewall.I said,"That's it,enough fun."Went off the floor,got me a Starbuck's coffee,and took pictures,the rest of the evening.But,I believe I had the best time,because,I watched them all having one of the best times they had ever had.Watching them flying on the ice, like a bird,laughing along with my husband,as he fell,repeatedly.Laughing with thier little sister as she scooted along the ice,with everyone taking turns with her.It's amazing how such times,even though,they last only a few hours,can give a precious 'memory for life.So,in the summer,on another son's birthday,guess where we went?Ah!More coffee,more pictures,another 'memory.Life can be so sweet. |
