Ending of A Relationship Ending of A Relationship
by Frances Marie Ledbetter Samaniego

In the beginning, how nice it is
The connection, the fire, the passion
How great every relationship would be
If in this realm each could stay

But changes occur as time goes by
What once was cute is now an annoyance
What once seemed passionate, now is not
And unless worked at, they begin to drift apart

Annoyances, dullness, and assumptions
Lead to disagreements, arguments, and fights
And as the altercations continue and escalate
Patience and compassion begin to drift

The relationship continues to fade
The realization becomes clear that it will not last
There then comes a time
That a parting must come to pass

An agreeable parting is best for all
However often this does not happen
cause although one may be ready to let go
The other refuses to accept that it is over

Why make the parting so hard?
If it was meant to last
Then to this point it would not have come
Accept the change for what it is

For change is the only thing in life
that we can count on completely
And is for the better
Of all involved to just accept it.
