What?!' Hannah could feel her anger start to rise.
'He,...he,...he hit me Hannah' she said even quieter than before, through even bigger tears. She didn't know why she hadn't told her sooner. They had always shared everything. She felt ashamed for not talking to her best friend sooner.
Hannah was still trying to process what she had just heard when she ran to the bathroom and threw up. It made her sick to think that after all this time she had never done anything sooner. It made her even sicker to think that her sister didn't feel safe enough to tell her something so serious.
"Hannah?" After about five minutes of waiting for her to come out of the bathroom Joy went to find her sister.
Hannah had quit throwing up a while ago. When Joy walked in, the sight before her broke her heart. She found Hannah sitting with her back against the tub, head back and with a wet washcloth over her eyes
"Hannah!" Joy knelt down on the floor next to her sister. "Hannah?" She felt her forehead.
Hannah removed the washcloth. "I'm ok Joy." She knew that she should have told Joy the truth, but she didn't want to make her feel guilty about her throwing up.
"Hannah, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner! I just-" Hannah cut her off.
"It's fine Joy." She stood up and fell backwards.
"You sure your ok?" Joy looked up at her little sister with concern clearly written all over her face. "Yeah, just dizzy." She mumbled.
"Come on, lets get you to bed." She looped Hannah's arm with her own and started to pull her towards her bedroom."Joy I'm fine. Really. Just let me go rest on the couch for a little while."
"Ok, come on. I think there is going to be an 8 simple rules marathon. There going to end it with the two new episodes with... NICKY!" She mocked her sister knowing how much Hannah liked Nick Carter.
"Joy?"
"What?" She looked at her sister.
"Shut up!"
