The Churches were founded as "Norwegian Pentecostal Mission" & "Swedish Free Mission". These two organizations merged to form one organization the "Free Pentecostal Fellowship in Kenya". A Norwegian Missionary the late 'Rev Arthur Nyborg Pettersen' evangelized the Mathare Slums & Eastleigh from which the Eastleigh church was planted. The Church was built on "Kibereli Lane" off '2d Avenue & 3rd Street Eastleigh'. Serving the needy people the church flourished and grew, being neighbored by Mosques and more having come up, the church went through a wilderness stint which wasn't helped by the influx of refugees from Ethiopia Somali and other countries. The rentals spiked forcing many of the members to move away. In the begining we didn't realise that the Lord had brought the people who couldnt be reached in their own countries to our frontyard. The day the understanding set in that we are called to serve the refugees and share the good news with them then revitalization took place and vision was born. Out of which new breath of evangelism and community projects came into being and the Penuel Educational Complex was initiated. Affiliation We belong to the FPFK Churches which are a Pentecostal union of the former Swedish Mission & Norwegian Mission . Purpose "Accepting, healing, and equipping people in Jesus for Kingdom work" Mission Statement The mission of FPFK Eastleigh Church is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Unreached people in Eastleigh and beyond. We also endeavor to teach the Bible (Gods word) to enable the new believers to mature into responsible members of the church and the communities they live in.
